A November To Remember...and Forget.

November was almost one to remember with 8 wins and 5 loses in the month things were looking really good for the Canucks who were also filled with injuries. Rick Rypien recived surgery on a Sports Hernia at the end of october. Ryan Johnson had a broken foot and hand. Kevin Biekia broke his foot and Darcy Hordachuck did as well. But the most severe injury of them all was sustianed on November.22 which looked liek a harmless play turned into the Vancouver Captian and goaltender Roberto Luongo being out for week to week. This was right when Luongo was playing his best hockey as well. He had 3 straight games with shut outs and continues into the 4th game until his streak was broken by Marek Svatos. Luongo had 242 minutes and 36 seconds of scoreless hockey, but now he was out indefinatly.

The Start Of The Season

The Vancouver Canucks got off to a great start with a 6-0 tromp over the Calgary Flames. In October they finished 6-5, so they were over .500 which was a better start than I expected but also a bit misleading after the 5-0 pre-season record.

Vancouver Canucks Pre Season

Before the season began i honestly thought that the Vancouver Canucks were going to have a rough season. After losing Markus Naslund, and Brendan Morrison in the off-season and not bringign in to many big players I thought it was going to be a long season. I was excited that Darcy Hordachuck was coming in and I was looking forward to seeing him, Mike Brown, and Jeff Cowan to play together. Jeff Cowan did not make the final team however. Ryan Johnson sounded like an alright shot blocker and I had not heard alot of Steve Bernier. Pavol Demitra is a very good player and passer but you never know if the Sedin Twins will continue producing goals because one would think that players would figure them out eventually. I thought that Cody Hodgson would have made the team as well. It turned out that the Vancouver Canucks suprised us all by going 5-0.
